ITINERARY
Namaste and welcome to India. At the airport in Delhi, one of our staff will meet you and take you to your hotel, where you can check in in peace and quiet. After checking in you have the time to recover.
The first program point of the trip is directly after breakfast a city tour through the old part of Delhi. You will pass the UNESCO Heritage Site Red Fort and visit the largest mosque in India Jama Masjid. One can have a direct view of the vibrant basal Chandni Chowk right next door. The next stop is the monument of Mahatma Gandhi, Raj Ghat. In the afternoon you enter New Delhi. You will visit the India Gate, Government District, Qutub Minar and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. After breakfast drive to Agra. The highlight of any trip to northern India awaits you today: a visit to the Taj Mahal, the wonder of the world and a monument to a great love that Shahjahan built for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Afterwards, visit the Fort Agra. Fort of Agra was once the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire over several generations. An imposing structure with its red sandstone walls nearly three kilometres long. In the evening you will visit a professional operetta performance in which the whole story of the most beautiful love story of the Taj Mahal will be presented playfully and musically. On the way to Jaipur, visit the abandoned ruined city of Fatehpur Sikri. The red sandstone houses of the ruler family are still well preserved. After the sightseeing drive to Jaipur, the pink city. The pink colour symbolizes hospitality in the Rajput culture, which is why, for the visit of Prince Albert in the 19th century, the houses were painted in this colour. Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh ll (1699-1744), who even came up with the name. After having breakfast, climb the famous Fort of Amber, located on a steep mountain, with a choice of Elephant or Jeep. The fort was until the founding of Jaipur the capital of the Raiputen Empire. After the fort, visit the world's largest stone observatory, Jantar Mantar, and in the afternoon, the magnificent city palace, which is still inhabited by descendants of the royal family. Today, your journey continues to Kota. Before you reach Kota, you will visit the city of Bundi. Bundi is a city of about 100,000 inhabitants. It is surrounded on three sides by the Aravalli hills. The whole city is surrounded by a massive city wall with four entrance gates. Impressive medieval fortresses, palaces, havelis, baolis (fountains), water tanks, temples, chattris and a picturesque lake make up the charm of Bundi. The main attraction in Bundi is the Taragarh Fort. The fort was built in 1354 AD. The fortress is one of the most impressive fortresses of Rajasthan. This fortress lies on a densely forested hill with a huge reservoir of water that once provided the palace with water. The Taragarh Fort is surrounded by steep roads that lead up the slope. After visiting Taragarh Fort, continue to Kota. Overnight in Kota.
You will have breakfast at the hotel and after breakfast, you will explore Kota today. You will visit the City Fort Palace. A stroll in vegetables and fruits market is also worthwhile. In the evening you have free time. Overnight in Kota.
Today after breakfast you leave Kota and drive to Udaipur. On the way to Udaipur you will visit Chittorgarh. Chittorgarh Fort is one of the longest fort in India (about 280 hectares long). Victory Column inside the fort was built by Maharana Kumbha in 1440 after his victory in Gujarat. In the afternoon, after the tour, you will drive to Udaipur for about 2 hours. Overnight in Udaipur.
Udaipur is considered the fairytale quintessence of Rajasthan, idyllic with a traditional cityscape and a huge palace. In the morning, take a sightseeing tour of the Old City with its alleyways and bazaars, visit the City Palace (the largest palace complex in Rajasthan) and the Vishnu Deity dedicated to Jagdish Temple. Afterwards, enjoy the lovely garden Sahelion Ki Bari. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on the picturesque Lake Pichola and enjoy the views of the Jag Mandir and Jag Niwas palaces on two islands in the lake. Overnight in Udaipur.
Your journey continues today to Kumbhalgarh. Upon arrival in Kumbhalgarh you will check in at the hotel and have a short time to recover from the ride. In the afternoon, visit the Kumbhalgarh Fort. This fort was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. The plant is surrounded by a 36 km long, on average 12 meters high and 8 meters thick wall with a total of 7 gates. Overnight in Kumbhalgarh.
On the way to Rohetgarh, you will visit today the city of Ranakpur and the magnificent Adinath Temple, which is particularly impressed by the variety of filigree details, columns and domes. In the afternoon continue to Rohetgarh. Today in Rohetgarh you will stay in a hotel converted palace of the Maharaja from the village. Rohetgarh is well known for its delicious cuisine. After breakfast, take a trip to Jodhpur, also called 'blue city'. You will visit the Mehrangarh Fort on a 130-meter high hill in the middle of the city. The fort was founded in 1459. A winding path takes you to the fort. After the fort, explore the Maharaja tomb of Jaswant Thada. Overnight in Rohetgarh.
Your journey will take you to Jaisalmer today. Jaisalmer is the golden city that captivates you in an atmosphere of 1001 nights. The old town of Jaisalmer with its narrow streets, ornate havelis is unique. At sunset, you will meet in Bada Bagh, the royal zenotaphen Jaisalmer, where you can experience this spectacular natural spectacle with panoramic views of the reddish and gold-coloured fortress. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
Today belongs to Jaisalmer. You will visit the Jaisalmer Fort and the Jain Temple. Admire the traditional havelis from the yellow sandstone during the subsequent stroll through the picturesque old town. In the afternoon, take a trip to the sand dunes of Sam (about 40 km). You have the opportunity to experience a camel ride here and you will also experience the barren beauty of the desert. In the evening drive back to Jaisalmer. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
After breakfast, leave the city of Jaisalmer. Your destination today is Bikaner. Bikaner is founded on the edge of the desert. The city was an important trade center on the ancient caravan route through Central Asia. Today you drive about 330 km to this city Bikaner. Upon arrival, you will check in at the hotel. Evening you have at leisure. Overnight in Bikaner.
After breakfast, explore Junagarh Fort, built in the 16th century. The enormous complex with its ramparts and bastions could never be conquered. Afterwards, you will visit the camel breeding farm. The main task of the farm is to improve the camel breeding. Overnight in Bikaner.
Today you break into Mandawa, about 200 km away. Here you can admire the artistically painted havelis (mansions), which reflect the richness of bygone times. The dealer houses are the highlight of Mandawa. In the afternoon, take a city tour here. Overnight in Mandawa.
After breakfast at the hotel you will check out and drive to Delhi. They fly from Delhi back to Germany. In the evening you have free time. After dinner at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight to Germany.
